Summary

This position manages Acra Lending's Quality Control Audit Department and oversees the Post Close Due Diligence Department. Responsibilities include identification of risk and remediation, designing Quality Control review process for internal processes and third-party vendor processes. This position will develop Quality Control reviews and prepare internal Quality Control reports reflecting the results of the test work performed. Work performed will include coverage of Loan Operations and Third-Party Vendors which support Loan Operations, with focus on compliance/regulatory and operational processes including identifying process gaps, root cause analysis and recommending remediation. This position will also have responsibility for Process Improvement and Project Management. The Quality Control Manager must stay current with all applicable regulatory changes and internal policy updates to ensure that Loan Operations is and continues to operate in a compliant manner with all such requirements. The Quality Control Manager will work closely with the Loan Operations leadership teams and regularly interact with the Compliance team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees QC Audit Department. Includes hiring, staff training, audit pipeline/timeline management, meeting minimum monthly audit percentage standards as directed by management, review of material findings, engage with staff, operations and sales as needed to resolve issues/needs, follow up to corrective action and loan defect issues.
  • Create QC testing scripts.
  • Escalate trends and material audit findings to management.
  • Finalize QC reporting along with monthly/quarterly executive summary.
  • Manage Regulatory, Audit and Fraud Training to QA/QC staff.
  • Conduct or provide oversight on fraud investigation audits. Reporting of all fraud/misrepresentation to all management groups. Underwriting, QC, Executives, Legal. Recommendation of SAR files to executive/legal group and placement of individuals to applicable ineligible list.
  • Provide support as needed to operations to resolve material deficiencies and find solutions to mitigate findings with regulators and investors.
  • Establishing goals and objectives with QA Staff and Post QC Supervisor.
  • Manage special projects assigned by the Managing Director of Compliance and Licensing.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of FDCPA, CFPB Servicing Guidelines and state regulations related to both loan origination and loan servicing practices.
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate and work well with others.
  • Thorough understanding of Federal and State licensing and lending laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with minimum direction and supervision.
  • Strong personal computer (Excel and Word) knowledge and general office skills.


Education and/or Experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent. Batchelor's degree or college coursework preferred. Can be supplemented with mortgage lending or servicing experience.
  • Five years of mortgage lending industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a manager in financial services, vendor management or in mortgage licensing.
  • Must be an articulate, effective communicator able to prepare and deliver projects specific reports.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with both Mortgage Loan Origination and Mortgage Loan Servicing.


Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).

Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000
