Position Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Department of Psychology and Communication at the University of Idaho seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Psychology, beginning August 2025.

This position will conduct federally funded research related to nutrition and women's health, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology, support the doctoral program in experimental psychology, and provide outreach and service related to Psychology and women's health as part of the COBRE in Nutrition and Women's Health. This will include collaboration with other faculty associated with the COBRE grant.

Area of expertise may be unique but also complement existing areas of expertise within the department. Candidate must be able to teach courses serving the psychology majors at the undergraduate level.

Candidates are expected to show a strong potential for excellence in research and should have a Ph.D. in psychology, nutrition, or related discipline by the date of appointment.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Degree Required

Required Qualifications
  • PhD in psychology, nutrition, or related discipline
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses
  • Experience in seeking external federal funding
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity in area of expertise


Preferred Qualifications
  • Emerging or established line of research related to nutrition and women's health
  • Experience conducting externally funded research
  • Experience leading teams (other researchers or students) in a research setting
  • Excellent communication skills
