The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. The Supervisor of Operations Support leads and develops a high-performing team that will provide critical technical and analytical engineering support for SPP's Markets+ Service Offering. This team will play a vital role in maintaining the Network Model, Real-Time Data Model, and Commercial Model of the Markets+ footprint, while actively monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of real-time situational awareness tools used by Markets+ operators. The Supervisor will work closely with the Manager, Modeling & Data Integrity, to meet critical objectives and ensure the successful expansion of SPP's services, particularly into the Western Interconnection.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours potentially required.
Travel Requirement:
This position requires moderate travel (approximately 20%).

Key Responsibilities:
Managerial Duties
- Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing team.
- Hire staff, set schedules, and ensure proper coverage.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage development plans.
- Oversee budget planning and the development of tools and processes.
- Maintain team compliance with SPP policies and procedures.
Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure effective process controls and data quality in the Network, Commercial, and Real-Time Data Models.
- Implement SSAE16 control activities and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Support real-time tools and system performance for the Western Interconnection.
- Analyze and report on operational data; resolve system-related issues from internal and external stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities
- Collaborate across departments and with external partners to address issues and provide support.
- Represent SPP in industry committees and working groups.
- Manage logistics and documentation for internal group meetings.
- Support general administrative and compliance-related tasks.
To be successful in the role we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field or a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Engineering degree should be in a calculus-based engineering field such as: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering
- Six (6) years of experience in electric utility operations, model development, or a related field
- Advanced knowledge on transmission system operations including power flow, stability, voltage control, restoration, ATC calculation, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of the Markets+ Services Offering high voltage transmission system, the SPP Criteria, SPP Business Practices, NERC Reliability Standards, SPP Market Protocols, SPP Regional Tariff, SSAE16 Modeling Controls and SPP Change Control procedures
- Working knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, SPP Criteria, SPP Market Protocols, the SPP OATT and SPP OATT Business Practices
- Detailed knowledge of the modeling tools, database structures, relationships, dependencies and interactions of the data required by the applications used to facilitate the Reliability Coordination, Tariff Administration, Scheduling, and Market Operations functions
- Knowledgeable of and conversant with tools such as the EMS Applications, IDC, CAT, MFC, Constraint Manager, CROW, OPS1, Market System, WebTrans and WebOASIS.
- Strong inter-personal and team building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Motivation to take appropriate expedited action when required
- Initiative to stay abreast of industry developments
- Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals with diverse interests when resolving problems
- Competent skills with communication and data handling software such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access
- A demonstrated culture of compliance with industry Standards and organizational Policies and Procedures
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Advanced knowledge of EMS and ICCP modeling and support
- Advanced knowledge of NERC Standards with WECC Regional variances
- Graduate level degree in related field of study
- A Professional Engineer license
- NERC Operator Certification
- Operations experience in the Markets+ Service Offering footprint
