At Otter Tail Power, our employees help us to serve the communities we support by producing reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible electricity. In this role, Supervisor, Substation Projects will ensure that OTP substation projects are completed safely, on time and on budget.

Some examples of those activities will include:
Project Management: Oversee all aspects of substation projects including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, resource management, and construction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Safety Leadership: Lead safety initiatives, foster a culture of safety, and ensure compliance with safety regulations during substation construction.
Construction Coordination: Coordinate construction efforts for new transmission and large distribution substation projects, manage electrical construction activities, and ensure timely completion of construction tasks.
Employee Engagement: Mentor and guide direct reports, ensure team productivity and engagement, and provide necessary resources for effective job performance.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Preferably holds a 4-year undergraduate degree in engineering with substantial work experience in substation construction. A strong background in substation design is highly preferred.
Technical Expertise: Experience in substation construction methods and techniques, including knowledge of transmission substations, relay protection control schemes, control house requirements, civil components, and major material requirements.
Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously, apply safety rules, and understand risk mitigation from both safety and financial perspectives.
Leadership and Development: Capable leader dedicated to employee development, ensuring team productivity and engagement.

o The expected base compensation for this role is $97,000 - $122,00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
