MEP Systems Manager

Overview

Herzog Contracting Corp. is seeking a qualified MEP Systems Manager in Washington D.C. to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

• Managing all scopes related to building automation systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low voltage system, HVAC, and fire sprinkler through the design and construction phases
• Support team for estimating, shop drawing and submittal reviews, subcontractor bid reviews, scheduling, project logistics, and constructability reviews as it relates to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems
• Manage all MEP subcontractors and coordinate the planning and installation of building MEP systems
• Regular engagement with all members of the project team and stakeholders
• Assist in the development of full commissioning plans for all MEP systems
• Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Preferred bachelor's (or greater) degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in building electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
• Preferred comprehension of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and experience interpreting schematics and diagrams.
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license required.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
• Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
• Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

Physical Requirements:

• Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
• Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
• Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
• Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
• Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
• Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
• Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
• Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
