The Human Resources Director (HRD) will drive key people initiatives while maintaining accountability for human resources operations that include total rewards administration, policy & compliance, recruitment, HR metrics, and HR systems, all aligned with the company's culture and strategic people pillar. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the HRD is expected to contribute to strategic thinking and take initiative for action that impacts both employee experience and business success. The HRD will provide confidential workplace advice that addresses employee relations matters. The HRD will lead and manage other department human resources professionals.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Considers all functional activities and actions through the lens of employee experience.
  • Collaborates with leaders to understand and act on the organization's goals and strategy related to people practices.
  • Develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, projects, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Oversees the administration of human resource programs including but not limited to total rewards; leave administration; employee relations matters and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and employee experience; occupational health and safety; training and development, and outsourced payroll management.
  • Interacts with external partners such as insurance brokers, recruiters, etc.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Maintains accountability for the organization's HRIS (Human Resource Information System) and along with other team members ensures data integrity; conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics leveraging the HRIS and HR other platforms.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to drive changes in policies and practices
  • Supports mergers and acquisition activity through assisting in due diligence, facilitating post-acquisition integration activities to ensure a smooth transition for employees across both organizations, and developing workforce plans
  • Co-manages departmental budget with CPO.
  • Leads, manages, and develops direct reports on the HR team.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Skills and Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources or related field; SPHR certification preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of human resources experience in progressively greater roles with several years leading and managing other HR staff professionals. Experience working within a hybrid or remote workplace setting is highly desirable.
  • High degree of organization and efficiency with a good attention to detail
  • Comfort with using data to drive decision-making
  • A thorough and solid understanding of HR principles and practices
  • Proficient in PC-based work environments, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint with exposure to and experience with human resources management software platforms
  • A dedication to the importance and improvement of the employee experience that leads to increased engagement and a workplace culture where employees can grow and flourish.
  • A demonstrated ability to take initiative, share ideas for problem-solving, have a bias for action, and have an informed POV.
  • Can manage projects and programs in a constantly changing environment, creating systems as needed

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • The work environment is an (office) with a (low/average) noise level
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
