What You'll Do

The main responsibility of the VP, Advanced Analytics is to apply sophisticated modeling and other advanced analytic techniques to help guide our clients' media spending plans and make their investments more efficient. This position will be charged with designing/developing the analytic processes and execution ongoing. In addition to the technical aspects required, it will involve cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of parties including the clients, internal stakeholders (e.g. Brand and Activation), 3rd-party vendors, external clients, and operational areas within Horizon.

Job Summary

The main responsibility of this role will be leading a group of advanced analytic resources, in addition to providing thought leadership for Horizon Analytics. This role requires strong client-facing talent and a diverse set of problem-solving capabilities.
  • Development and Enhancement of data and analytics capabilities
  • Spearhead modeling and analytic efforts to provide insights into new product launches/initiatives.
  • Constantly look for ways to improve the usage of Horizon's existing data and analytics infrastructure.
  • Work with stakeholders to improve current analytic processes, and develop new capabilities that set us apart in the marketplace.
  • Use automation and technology to increase efficiency and to provide the infrastructure to scale.
  • Bring an "outside in perspective" to analytic development; explore, identify and assess external best practices - and translate to the relevant application internally.
  • Individual project management and execution.
  • Cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships- internally and externally
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationship with key functional areas, as well as HMI Analytic and other stakeholders throughout Horizon.
  • Act as a liaison between the Analytics team and the internal Brand, Activation and Operational areas.
  • Extensive brand team and client interaction and day-to-day management.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of advanced analytic professionals, primarily involving execution of our analytic suite and directly on client engagements.

Above all, the VP, Advanced Analytics must be highly driven with an exceptional work ethic, determination to overcome complex challenges, and must have a desire to have huge impact on the business.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • 7 to 10 years or more experience in data and analytical functions
  • Deep experience with media and marketing
  • Data expertise - client and 3rd party media industry datasets
  • Strong capability to develop and lead execution proprietary statistical models (i.e. response models)
  • Ability to both get the hands dirty with data and communicate with clients on their business questions
  • A curious mind and both left and right brain intelligence
  • Capacity for dealing with ambiguity
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as R and Python, as well as database (SQL)
  • Strong under pressure and ability to manage external and internal teams
  • Ability to assimilate disparate information into a cohesive, executive level story
  • Strong communication, organizational, collaboration skills; executive presence
  • Proficient in managing across diverse teams
  • Proven ability to diffuse conflicts and foster team alignment to a productive path


Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's degree in related field is a plus

Salary Range
$200,000.00 - $250,000.00

A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
