IT Applications Specialist

(Atlanta or Irvine, Full-time, Hybrid)

Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced IT Applications Specialist to join our team. In this essential role, you will contribute to the seamless operation of our services, providing crucial support to our department in delivering exceptional client service and maintaining our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operational
  • Provide a phenomenal customer service experience to all internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications and cloud services which allow for evaluation and recommendations of applications and cloud services that enhance the firm's services or create efficiencies.
  • Assist Technical Support when needed as an escalation point, troubleshooting and resolving application or cloud service issues and providing guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors as needed for implementation and support.
  • Perform hands-on-fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Utilize ticketing system to record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles and frequently asked questions resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution.
  • Notify the Applications Manager, Director of Technology and Director of Information Security of any security issues as they arise. No concern is too small.
  • Conduct installations and updates after hours as required.
  • Provide after-hours escalation support on a rotation with other members of the Applications Team.

Application Lifecyle Management
  • Responsible for the complete lifecycle of all firm applications and user-facing cloud services including testing, implementation and administration.
  • Maintain and enhance performance of all new and existing applications across the organization.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including software and driver updates to keep firm operating systems and applications current and supported.
  • Maintain the firm's desktop image and deployment process.
  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or in proof of concept.
  • Participate in the design, development and delivery of software applications training programs with the firm's technical trainers.
  • Promote user adoption and application usage through communications and training opportunities.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements are required.
  • Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
  • Track project status and keep project management service current.
  • Identify opportunities to develop expertise through training and certifications for you and other Application Specialists.


Requirements
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft 365, MTA, MCSA Windows 10/11, or MD-102 Endpoint Administrator desired.
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including all Microsoft Office applications, iManage Work, Zoom, Intune, SCCM and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Autopilot and Intune for streamlined device deployment, mobile device management, and application deployments.
  • Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management with a focus on planning, execution, and delivery of IT-related projects.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques and can demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Deep personal commitment to integrity, excellent judgement, and the highest standard of ethics.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to conduct research into software development and delivery concepts, as well as technical application issues.
  • Ability to present ideas in business friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Occasional travel between regional offices required.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects such as computers and peripherals.


The hourly rate range for this position is $40.87 - $43.27. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
