Description:

Wellabe is seeking a hybrid Analytics Engineer 3 to be responsible for making sure that our data is accurate, clean, and accessible for self-service analytics and reporting purposes. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable semantic data layer that enable data-driven insights for various business units. You will work closely with business leaders in sales, finance, operations, marketing, and other teams to produce actionable reports, dashboards, and analytical insights that inform data-based decisioning. analyzing customer needs to design, build, and deliver basic to the most complex BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain multi-tenant reporting data architecture for analytical purposes, ensuring that the data architecture is optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Semantic Data Layer Management: Design and implement scalable semantic data layer, ensuring that analysts and data scientists can easily access and understand the data. This includes defining business metrics, dimensions, and calculations that align with organizational goals.
  • Report Development & Insight Generation: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive business intelligence reports and dashboards for several business areas across the organization. Provide data-based insights to support strategic decision-making, risk management planning and day-to-day management of business operations.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency by implementing monitoring systems, performing routine checks, and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Automation of Reporting Processes: Implement automated reporting solutions to streamline manual processes and improve reporting efficiency across teams.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data modeling and reporting in the insurance industry.
  • Proven experience in working with or building multi-tenant reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power Bi, Tableau, Qlikview).
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating large data sets.
  • Familiarity with Databricks platform to process large-scale datasets, perform data transformation using Python or R, and prepare data for reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to conduct detailed data analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in the Life, Annuity or Health insurance industry is required.
