We are looking for a Mine Surveyor to join the Iron Ore Company of Canada Survey Team, providing mine survey services to the Carol Lake Mine.
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop their mine survey and technical skills. Working a shift rotation schedule and reporting to the Superintendent - Geoscience, you will:

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,700 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.
IOC's operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We also operate a wholly-owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), that links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles.

We are looking for a Mine Surveyor to join the Iron Ore Company of Canada Survey Team, providing mine survey services to the Carol Lake Mine.
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop their mine survey and technical skills. Working a shift rotation schedule and reporting to the Superintendent - Geoscience, you will:
- Support the mine technical team by gathering and interpreting survey data using a variety of methods
- Update and maintain mine survey data including all mine as-builts
- Prepare standard reports and complete documentation related to survey and drill and blast monitoring work
- Ensures mine plans are executed to meet mine design requirements
- Establishes survey and drilling control in the field as required
- Establishes and maintains survey control
- Measure the volumes and tonnages blasted
- Support the mine execution team by maintaining and updating all mine workings

What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- 3D drafting software experience (Maptek Vulcan, Point Studio, etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently, self-starter
- Meticulous attention to detail
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Previous experience in open pit mining
- Intermediate computer competency (Excel, Word, SAP, etc.)
- RPAS Advanced Pilot Certificate
