Tyto Athene is seeking a highly motivated QA/Test Engineer to join our team in delivering resilient, scalable, and secure solutions to federal customers. This individual will drive quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle, help implement test-driven development (TDD) practices and ensure compliance with federal accessibility standards (such as Section 508). The QA/Test Engineer will collaborate closely with development, product, and DevSecOps teams to support mission-critical systems and elevate delivery excellence.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and advocate for the adoption of test-driven development (TDD) within agile development teams.
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test suites across web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Identify and document software defects clearly and concisely, and track resolution through to completion.
- Develop test documentation and reports aligned with federal delivery expectations.
- Integrate quality assurance practices into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, offering QA insights and ensuring test coverage aligns with user stories and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-performing, compliant, and secure systems.
- Identify and document new feature requests clearly and concisely. Serve as the functionality owner of these requests throughout the development lifecycle, acting as the feature customer liaison.
- Document release training content and testing plans and update relevant user guides as required.
- Conduct user and release training as needed and serve as the functionality SME for the customer.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in QA/testing in a federal, enterprise, or regulated environment
- Experience implementing or supporting TDD workflows
- Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools used in CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Working knowledge of Section 508 compliance and accessibility testing tools
- Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills
Desired:
- Security clearance is a plus, but not required
Compensation:
- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
