The Manager, Consumer Public Relations will help showcase the unique stories and award-winning notes of some of the nation's top luxury wines spanning California's growing regions, overseeing the day-to-day management of Consumer PR efforts for JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery in Paso Robles, Landmark Vineyards in Sonoma, and Lewis Cellars in Napa Valley. Each of these wineries are distinctly different but are all Wonderful.

The PR Manager is a strategic partner for internal marketing teams and will work closely with other cross-functional departments, leading intentional external communications efforts on behalf of our entire wine portfolio. This position will maximize media visibility, provide program vision, cultivate and develop creative ideas, ensure flawless execution and manage team development with three direct reports.

In addition to the efforts to support our wine brands, the Manager will contribute to the strategic and creative thinking for a portfolio of global brands, which also includes FIJI Water, Wonderful Pistachios, POM Wonderful, Wonderful Halos and Teleflora, among others.

The Manager, Consumer Public Relations sits within the Corporate Communications department, a team of 30+ individuals who support all global internal and external public relations and communications efforts and will report to the Director of Consumer Public Relations for FIJI Water and Wines.

This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

Job Description
  • Manage the creation and execution of strategic public relations plans for the Wonderful Company's Portfolio of wine brands
  • Identify, outreach and coordinate event sponsorships, collaborations and partnerships that elevate the brands
  • Manage special events, food and wine festivals, national and regional trade shows, media tours and integrations, red carpet events and sampling programs, serving as a brand spokesperson and representative.
  • Oversee trade and consumer media relations efforts, influencer programs and outreach including media list development, media tracking and monitoring, packaging coverage, and preparing executive-facing seasonal and quarterly results presentations
  • Define and develop the brand voice to reach targeted audiences through a variety of channels (i.e.: Community outreach, social media, business news, etc.)
  • Oversee wine scoring, working closely with the winemakers and brand marketing team for timely submissions
  • Lead the development of message guides, event briefings and itineraries, case studies, award submissions and other correspondence, as appropriate
  • Identify and implement out-of-the-box third-party projects including VIP collaborations, integration opportunities, and brand partnerships
  • Collaborate with senior management and brand teams, and work cross-functionally with our marketing, advertising, research, and legal teams
  • Work closely with the winery hospitality teams to coordinate media and influencer trips
  • Build lasting and credible relationships with celebrity, cultural and influential tastemakers
  • Evaluate media inquiries and interview opportunities, and craft briefing documents and talking points for executives
  • Oversee the organic social strategy for the wines portfolio to help showcase the lifestyle, people and properties behind each of the brands, this includes identifying UGC or owned images to share and drafting monthly social media editorial calendars.
  • Create and manage client budgets and allocations
  • Oversee a team to deliver results and encourage internal growth


Qualifications
  • At least 5-8 years of communications experience including wine within an agency or corporate environment
  • WSET 1 or higher training preferred
  • Experience developing and executing consumer-facing integrated public relations campaigns
  • Strong knowledge of media relations, press release writing and message development
  • Possess confidence and proven ability to operate high profile events autonomously
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Accurate and consistent, and is well-tuned into attention to detail
  • Strong writing, research and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated team player that rises to the occasion and takes ownership of projects; acts as a solution provider
  • Knowledge of standard PR tools: MuckRack, PR Newswire/Businesswire, media monitoring services, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to change, is open to new ideas, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • This position requires regular travel to California's wine regions where our brands are based, and to additional locations for events as needed, with approximately 25% travel and a willingness to work non-traditional hours as many events occur in the evening and/or on weekends
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, Events or Hospitality

Pay Rate: $105,000 - $115,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
