Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Job Specialty: Radiology
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour days
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Preferred one year in abdomen and OB/GYN exams
License: Registry eligible in abdomen and/or OB/GYN
Certifications: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three months of hire
Must-Have: Ability to perform general abdomen, breast, and OB/GYN exams; comfortable working independently; vascular experience preferred
Job Description:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce high-quality general abdominal exams, OB/GYN, small parts, venous, and carotid Doppler exams.
- Follow appropriate guidelines for exams, ensuring patient needs and confidentiality are maintained.
- Actively participate with Radiologist or physician by contributing technical and professional knowledge.
- Review pathology, surgical, and delivery reports as appropriate to track patient progress and assess exam accuracy.
- Display familiarity with ultrasound equipment fundamentals such as transducer, gain, field of view, and Doppler settings.
- Ensure exam protocols are followed and correlate clinical history with the exam to be performed.
- Explain procedures and confirm patient preparation.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including necessary measurements, labels, and billing information.
- Respond to patient needs, maintain patient confidentiality, and adhere to healthcare regulations.
- Maneuver patients on the ultrasound table and transport patients as needed.
- Maintain equipment supplies and complete necessary paperwork for exams.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and solve problems independently.
- Care for patients across the age continuum, exercising safe judgment and practicing within legal and ethical guidelines.
