General Summary of Position
The Prefabrication Plant Operations Manager exists to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes whileoverseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturingto ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They will develop processesthat will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Duties (CoreCompetencies)
Plan, organize, direct, and runoptimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations whileimplementing LEAN practices.
Increase production, assetscapacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintainingcurrent quality standards.
Be responsible for productionoutput, product quality, and on-time shipping.
Allocate resources effectivelyand fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
Forecast and plan shop workflowfor the custom nature of each project/ panel and variety of complexity inrequirements for steel, sheathing, blocking, vapor barrier, etc.
Implement strategies in alignmentwith strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
Monitor operations and triggercorrective actions.
Maintain ICC Certifications.
Manage and develop plant frontline supervisors.
Collect and analyze data to findplaces of waste utilizing LEAN manufacturing practices.
Develop systems and processesthat track and optimize productivity standards, metrics and performance targetsto ensure effective return on assets.
Monitoring and reporting ofKPI's.
Coordinate with Design, ProjectManagement, Plant Operations and Procurement.
Material ordering andforecasting, trailer sequencing and rentals, shipping dates, design QA/QCdeadlines and constructability.
Stay up to date with the latestproduction management best practices and concepts.
Create and monitor budgets forstaffing and projects.
Hold weekly production meetings.
Commit to plant safetyprocedures.
Present budget updates bi-weekly.
Assist HR in corrective actionfor prefabrication shop labor employees
Assist management in developingnew products such as modular units, prefinished panels, and inclusion of newfinishes/ membranes, etc.
Develop and direct enhancementsto manufacturing equipment.
Marginal Duties
Other duties and projects asassigned.
Required to adhere to all Kloverpolicies and procedures.
Supervisory/ ManagementRequirements
Directly supervises allmanagement employees in the prefabrication and manufacturing operation. Carriesout supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policiesand applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and engaging employees;planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressingcomplaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

BS Degree in Engineering,Business Management or related field
10+ years as a plant manager,operations manager, or director for a manufacturing plant.
Adequate knowledge of businessand management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocationand human resources)
Proven leadership experience.
Familiarity with industrystandard equipment and technical expertise
Ability to create accountabilityand to lead by example
Strong team-building,decision-making and people management skills
Proficiency with a variety ofcomputer software
Knowledge of safety, quality,productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes required.
Prior construction buildingmaterials experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with metal.
Six Sigma Certification.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Knowledge of Smartsheet.
Work Environment
The work environment will consistmainly of heavy work in a manufacturing environment. There may be some exposureto seasonal humidity and extreme heat over 85 degrees, excessive noise, andsome vibration associated with the use of tools and equipment. Some hazardssuch as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, causticchemical, and slippery and uneven walking surfaces exist.
Physical Requirements:
Due to the physical nature of theposition, employee must have full dexterity of their hands andarms.
Employee must be able to seeobjects close and far away
At times, multiple sounds can beheard as employee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus onthe sound in particular that is associated with the task they arecompleting. Employees with any sort of hearing impairment would not beconsidered fit for duty to perform this position.
Due to the safety sensitivenature of the position, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and notreport to work under the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. Atno time, should employee be found to be possessing or using a mind orperformance altering substance while performing any Company task.
