Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) in Aurora, CO.
What you'll get to do?
We have an opening for a Systems Engineering on contract to deliver ground segment for restricted space program. Selected candidates will be supporting program leadership and the customer to define and maintain the technical baseline. Additionally, you will develop ground segment simulator and/or sample sensor data products to facilitate an end-to-end data lake and GCS demonstration in the AWS C2S environment.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be a part of a team of engineers that define, develop, decompose, analyze, verify, and validate requirements. Additionally, you may be called upon to support a variety of program milestones such as System Requirement Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and/or Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.
This requisition may be filled as either a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:
5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
Experience using Python to orchestrate test cases
Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
Top Secret / SCI; willing to submit to and able to pass a polygraph
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
Experience using Python to orchestrate test cases
Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
Top Secret / SCI; willing to submit to and able to pass a polygraph
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with ground segment design
Zephyr/Behave test framework experience
gRPC experience is a plus
Experience with AWS/C2S
Experience with Kubernetes
Excellent technical writing and team building skills
Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
