Position Overview:

SHR Consulting Group is seeking an Intermediate-level Systems Engineer responsible for evaluating, designing, and recommending technical cloud and IT solutions to support DoD missions. Works collaboratively with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), Cybersecurity PMOs, and DISA directorates to ensure system designs meet operational requirements, security standards, and mission needs for scalable and resilient cloud and IT environments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluate CSP-provided documentation and recommend acceptability of technical artifacts to the Government.
• Track and report monthly commercial parity exceptions to support the SCCA PMO.
• Review change/release notifications from CSPs and assess operational impacts.
• Provide design guidance for cloud infrastructure, emphasizing scalability, automation, performance, and availability.
• Advise user communities on CSO adoption for specific DoD use cases.
• Engage weekly with CSPs to discuss cloud adoption progress and technical questions on DoD configuration, policies, and controls.
• Facilitate and participate in multi-cloud technical exchange meetings.
• Develop and maintain the DoD CSO demand tracking list for Intelligence Community (IC) working groups.
• Work with Cyber PMO to ensure engineered solutions meet cyber compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with DISA directorates for cloud circuit connections, Cloud Access Point (CAP) onboarding, and DoD Provisional Authorization (DoD PA) support.
• Assist in system testing of tactical edge devices.
• Provide expertise on cloud implementations, emerging technologies, and deployment models (Private, Public, Community, Hybrid) across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS service models.

Education:

• BA/BS degree (or equivalent).
• Preferred: BS degree in Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.

Experience:

• 10 years of recent relevant experience, with at least 5 years in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in managing and supporting large-scale, complex IT environments.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity, compliance, and cloud security requirements.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with technical and business stakeholders.
• Specialized knowledge or skills may be accepted at Government discretion.

• CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
• CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Network Professional - Security)
• CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
