Overview
The PepsiCo Foods North America (PFNA) Senior Packaging Engineer will support the PepsiCo Packaging Sustainability agenda with proven technical packaging expertise and the ability to develop and commercialize new packaging designs. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Sustainability Office, Global Science and Technology, Product Development, Operations, Marketing, Regulatory, and Legal, to transform the North America packaging portfolio to reach company sustainability commitments. With demonstrated technical material development experience, effective communication, and leadership skills to navigate the regional packaging team through the evolving sustainability landscape in North America.
Must create "go-to-market" solutions that encompass sustainability design requirements for material development and Material Recover Facility End-of-life requirements via multiple distribution platforms and packaging technologies within internal plants and co-packers. This role will be required to be knowledgeable of packaging material sustainability design requirements and have the ability to influence and demonstrate applying guidelines to the overall packaging design system.

Responsibilities
- Must have experience in the development and execution of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials and have knowledge of the interrelationship with equipment.
- Understanding of material recovery facilities and material collection & sortation requirements.
- Desirable knowledge of evolving sustainability regulations for North America (US & Canada).
- Strong project management skills in developing project timelines with multiple cross-functional touch points and understanding of the concept to commercialization process.
- Maintain open communication and build strong relationships with internal & external teams, from suppliers to cross-functional.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical complexities to senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organization.
- Innovative thinking.
- Follow the technical stage gate process, create a package development plan & timeline, and manage the project budget.
- Must demonstrate an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and consumer-driven environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $76,400 - $127,850.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting the actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sickness, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- Preferred BS in Packaging Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics or Materials Engineering or equivalent.
- 5-8 years of work experience in food/beverage packaging.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and technical skills with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Analytical and innovative thinking
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and consumer-driven environment
- 15-25% domestic travel
