Department Summary

The Director, Wireless Product Management will build and oversee a team responsible for the strategic direction, development, and lifecycle management of our wireless products and services. This role will lead the identification of market opportunities, define product requirements, and drive the execution of product roadmaps to meet business objectives and customer needs. The Director will build and mentor a team that includes Product Analysts focused on market research, business case development, and financial modeling, as well as Technical Product Managers who can translate product requirements into technical specifications and collaborate effectively with engineering and other technical teams.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and Analyze Market Opportunities: Conduct thorough market research, analyze consumer needs and pain points, and monitor the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for product growth and improvement.
  • Define Product Strategy and Roadmaps: Develop and articulate clear product strategies and detailed roadmaps for existing and new wireless offerings, aligning with overall business goals.
  • Support the Product Development Lifecycle: Support the end-to-end product development process, including requirements gathering, prioritization, design, testing, and launch of wireless products and features.
  • Build and Manage the Product Backlog: Define, prioritize, and maintain a comprehensive product backlog based on market analysis, customer feedback, and business priorities.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure successful product development, launch, and ongoing management.
  • Develop Business Cases and ROI Analysis: Build comprehensive business cases, including market sizing, revenue projections, cost analysis, and ROI calculations, to support product initiatives.
  • Define and Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure product performance, identify areas for improvement, and iterate on product offerings.
  • Understand the Competitive Landscape: Continuously monitor and analyze competitor products, strategies, and market positioning to inform product development decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Develop Clear Product Positioning and Messaging: Define compelling consumer value propositions and work with marketing to develop effective product positioning and messaging for target audiences.
  • Manage Existing Product Portfolio: Oversee the performance and lifecycle of existing wireless products, identifying opportunities for enhancements, optimization, and potential sunsetting.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor small teams of product management professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking a product through the complete development lifecycle to successful market launch.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across diverse functional teams.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in product management within the technology, telecommunications, and/or consumer electronics industries.
  • Experience in both established companies and startup environments is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $185,000.00/Year - $225,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
