The Nurse Clinician provides clinical leadership, guidance, and support to assigned long-term care homes in the Windsor area. This role supports Directors of Nursing in strategic planning, resident care quality, compliance, and risk management. The Nurse Clinician collaborates with corporate nursing leaders and peers to uphold the organization's mission, vision, and values, and is accountable for the performance of the nursing departments in assigned homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of mission, vision, and values across the organization and assigned homes.
  • Partner with Directors of Nursing (DONs) to develop strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the areas of resident care, services, and legislative compliance.
  • Assist homes in maintaining compliance with Ministry of Health standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of corporate nursing policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and support quality improvement programs and perform evidence-based audits in homes.
  • Guide DONs on budgeting, staffing, and funding allocations.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, orientation, and performance management of DONs and key staff.
  • Collaborate with other Nurse Clinicians and corporate team members to deliver consistent, high-quality clinical support.
  • Support risk mitigation strategies and provide guidance on high-risk or complex situations.
  • Research and recommend best practices to drive change and innovation in nursing care and operations.
  • Provide mentorship and foster a learning environment for continuous professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with advanced education in gerontology and health care administration.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in long-term care.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of LTCHA, Regulation 79/10, CNO standards, and other applicable legislation.
  • Experience with nursing operational budgets and facility oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 6 months).
  • Recent TB test results (within 6 months).
  • Three supervisory references required.
  • Travel to various sites is required
