THE POSITION
The Department of Environmental Protection is on the lookout for a qualified candidate to take on the role of Air Quality District Supervisor. This position entails overseeing and guiding the work of Air Quality Specialists in the Southeast Region, ensuring that the Bureau of Air Quality's programs are effectively executed in this area. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including managing leave requests and usage, overseeing flex time and compressed work schedules, and ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures. Your duties will also encompass preparing job standards, evaluating employee performance, addressing disciplinary actions, handling grievances at the Step I level, and conducting candidate interviews, among other responsibilities. Additionally, you will hold meetings with staff to communicate policies and procedures effectively. You will also be tasked with tracking emission inventories, conducting audits of these inventories, and ensuring compliance through inspections and investigations. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as an Air Quality Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration; or
- One year of experience as an Air Monitoring Program Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of professional work in the control and abatement of air pollution and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or an environmental field closely related to Air Quality Management; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
