Position Summary
The Senior Vice President & Chief Clinical Officer provides medical leadership to facilitate and coordinate positive relationships and communications among the medical staff, executive management, and governance to achieve optimal clinical outcomes for patients. Provides strategic planning and direction for performance improvement and achieving performance improvement goals and objectives. Has primary responsibility for clinical quality, patient safety and clinical leadership.

Has primary responsibility for clinical quality, patient safety and clinical leadership.
Position Qualifications
- Experienced physician with a minimum of five years of credible clinical experience with proven practice success and three to five years' experience in a senior management position at a comparable hospital or health system
- Ten or more years of clinical practice preferred
- Operations experience. Knowledge and facility with electronic health records (EHR) and computerized order entry (CPOE)
- Demonstrable effectiveness in leading quality initiatives
- A well-regarded medical degree with excellent post-graduate medical
- MBA, MHA, MPH, or similar advanced healthcare management degree. Additional coursework in financial and health care business areas
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the development of quality improvement and safety education for physicians, management, staff, and Board to promote a culture of quality. Collaborate with System staff to support these activities
- Provide clinical vision and leadership for Asante Health System to instill and nurture the development of a culture of quality improvement and patient safety.
- Assist in the development and promotion of systems for identifying and implementing evidence-based practice, benchmarking, and developing standards for excellent care and service
- Provide guidance and support to the clinical core teams ensuring that they are structured appropriately and have the right tools to accomplish their objectives
