  • Manage capital projects directly or with contract service provider support.
  • Lead projects from initiation to occupancy, providing dedicated support for planning, design, and construction.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget; monitor progress and address variances.
  • Provide direction and oversight to service providers, project managers, and consultants.
  • Develop financial documentation, including business cases, reports and presentations.
  • Facilitate procurement and vendor acquisition.
  • Prepare and present project updates to clients and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities of one or more moderate to large, short to mid-term projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes
  • Exercises considerable latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverable
  • Decides appropriate methods, procedures for new projects with significant independence
  • Engages with all levels of management and acts as a key consultant for both functional and business issues
  • Conducts constructability reviews, workshops, and other processes to optimize construction efficiency, methods, and sequencing
  • Directs construction teams in executing complex activities like foundations, structural work, and systems installation per project specifications
  • Manages change orders, requests for information, submittal reviews, and other technical project documentation and communication
  • Analyze facility metrics like cost per square foot, system downtime, quality defects to guide continuous improvement
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in facilities construction project management.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate in Construction Management, Project Management Professional (PMP) or other accredited certification.
  • Industry experience in new construction and renovation of commercial facilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of building systems, infrastructure and architectural, engineering, design and construction practices.
  • Experience in procurement, contract management, supervision and oversight of contractors and service providers.
  • Experience in project planning, estimating and value engineering.
  • Competency in using computer applications including MS Office Suite and MS Project, to facilitate project management, develop reports and presentations.


Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • Position may require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
