Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Technical Services Project Management - Project Engineer (25-153) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position, located in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a crucial role in our mission to support the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier globally and regionally. Networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

The Project engineer will work with the Task Order 03 (TO03) Leadership to manage, coordinate, and oversee the cross-agile Release Train and Cross-Functional Product Team efforts associated with TO03 PR Implementation and Deployment changes, TO03 contract proposals and Mods and back up the TO03 Release Manager to task and lead the TO03 PR and ECP Implementation.

Essential Functions:
  • Will support the planning and execution of technical scope, schedule, and cost inputs for changes, ECPs, and other customer engineering estimate requests
  • Will support the development of TO03 IMS objective evidence and the collection of IMS status accounting and will support cross-spiral de-confliction, Cross-Functional Area coordination, and schedule/resource issue resolution
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required
  • Moderate to advanced Excel abilities, to use spreadsheets, tables, graphs/plots, and build new or edit existing calculations and formulas to analyze and process large quantities of data efficiently


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or Mathematics discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience or 12 years of related experience may be considered
  • Must have experience in Project Planning, Cost, Scheduling & Performance, Project Management, and EVMS
  • Must have experience in Systems Engineering, Software Development, and Deployment
  • Must have experience in developing & managing project teams and schedules
  • Must have experience managing, coordinating, and overseeing cross-functional area efforts associated with the Sustainment and Development lifecycle management emphasizing Deployment activities
  • Ability to brief complex technical issues and associated solutions to Task Order leadership and the DoD customer
  • Experience in Development Lifecycle and Spiral Development processes
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs


Preferred Qualification:
  • Current and Active in-scope DoD-issued TS/SCI clearance is highly desired
  • Previous experience with C2BMC deployment execution activities

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
