We are seeking a motivated and energetic Production Manager for our Electrode Manufacturing team. You will be playing a critical role developing and building a team that will spearhead production and development of battery cells at Tesla. Your excellence in people management will enable you to recruit, lead, and develop a team which includes supervisors, operators, and engineering technicians. In addition, your extensive experience and/or technical background will enable decision making when working with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and engineering. Your combined skills and mental agility will be key to successfully navigating our fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities
- Ensure safety and conduct policies are prioritized and met among employees
- Build and continuously develop a strong, motivated production team including ensuring training is provided to all personnel and providing mentorship to supervisors
- Leadership of team consisting of 4 production supervisors, 8-12 engineering process techs and 40+ production associates
- Organize and manage production activities labor schedules and monitor and report on production KPIs to ensure production needs are met
- Interface with cross-functional teams such as Maintenance and Engineering to ensure organized execution of activities and to drive continuous improvement including development of standard procedures and processes
- Collaborate with upstream supply processes including internal and external suppliers and downstream customers to ensure electrode material meets quality specifications
- Assist with budget development and reporting
Requirements
- 5+ year experience managing teams of people
- BS or MS in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues and solve problems
- Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform against deadlines and under high pressure
- Lean manufacturing knowledge and LSS certification preferred
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal, proficient with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in team building, coaching and development, and succession planning
- Ability to climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Perform frequent bending and lifting
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods, including a respirator and safety harness
- Pass pulmonary function tests and physical exam for respirator use and be prepared to potentially be in a fit test program
