Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Relevant OT license
Certifications: BLS, Mobility Certified (COMS)
Must-Have: Experience with long-term care/skilled nursing
Job Description:
- The occupational therapist will be responsible for treating 6-8 patients per day, depending on department caseload.
- You will work with a collaborative team including 3 PTs, 1 PTA, 1 COTA, 1 OT, and 1 SLP.
- Common diagnoses include post-surgical, orthopedic, neurologic conditions, sports medicine, and complex medical cases.
- Required to cover various settings including outpatient, inpatient swing beds, assisted living, and long-term care/skilled nursing.
- Primary focus will be in long-term care/skilled nursing facilities, with occasional duties in outpatient settings.
- Occasionally required to float between hospital and nursing homes.
- Flexible start times between 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM; no self-scheduling.
- Weekend shifts will be rare and there are no holiday requirements.
- Expectation to handle a full patient load by the second week of work, with a productivity benchmark of 75%.
- Dress code allows for scrubs in any color or business casual attire.
- Department orientation provided by the Director of Rehabilitation, typically lasting one week.
- Experience in long-term recovery therapy is preferred.
