Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Under the general administration of the Department of Radiology, to coordinate, manage, and provide care to
selected patients within protocols mutually agreed upon by the medical personnel and within the scope of practice as defined by New York State Law. Performs healthcare leadership and complex healthcare activities. Demonstrates an advanced level of education functions and administrative responsibilities in the division of cardiothoracic imaging.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate care for patients requiring lung CT scans and lung MRIs, as well as lung cancer screening exams.
Help to implement protocols for all lung CT scans and MRIs, as well as introduce new policies and procedures recommended by the American College of Radiology
Maintain patient list and participate in multidisciplinary conferences to be held 4-8 times per month, depending on volume
Act as a liaison with family practice and internal medicine physicians to coordinate care for incidental findings discovered on imaging, as needed
Coordinate with the department of ambulatory care medicine for the scheduling of lung cancer screening patients to evaluate for possible lung cancer
Request appropriate screening assessments within established protocols
Maintains a professional working relationship with other health care personnel
Attends professional meetings, workshops and conferences to enrich knowledge and to improve clinical skills
Serves as a leader, role model, patient advocate and clinical resource person for other health care personnel
Orients new members of the department to departmental policies, procedures, safety, infection control, and fire regulations, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED); and
2. Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED; and
3. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).

In addition to base compensation, you may also receive the following based on the Collectively-Bargained Agreement:
An annual education differential if you currently possess an appropriate degree in nursing or an allied health discipline from an accredited college or university, as listed below:
An annual certification differential of $1,878 if you currently hold an appropriate certification that is nationally recognized in the discipline or area of specialization for which you are employed.
An annual nursing experience differential ranging from $1,097 up to $9,100 for up to 10 years of experience if you have outside nursing experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
For NP (PC/BH) ONLY: An annual assignment differential ranging from $10,000 up to $25,000 if assigned to a Behavioral Health department AND regularly working evenings/nights
