Job Overview

As the VP of Sales, the individual plays a pivotal role in the growth of the organization.

The VP of Sales responsibilities include having in-depth knowledge and understanding of their market and knowing competitive products. They must also be excellent communicators with excellent customer service skills who can quickly navigate any situation to reach desired goals. Ultimately, you will work with company leaders and our sales team to ensure our organization hits our sales and gross profit goals.

Responsibilities:

Personnel
  • Hold quarterly QCs with all reporting staff
  • Hold consistent one on one meetings with each salesperson, and provide summary updates to executives weekly
  • Recruitment and dismissal of personnel

Sales and Marketing
  • Keep track of industry events and how we are participating in each as well as which industry events provide us with the most ROI
  • Review weekly activity of sales team to ensure that their time is being spent on the highest ROI activities
  • Develop and maintain innovative market strategies by analyzing business, government, and economic environment
  • Ensure that the relationship matrix is being filled out by all salespeople and reviewed weekly, and schedule quarterly review with executive team to determine if activity was productive and determine next relationship assignments
  • Ensure that project kick off meetings are happening for large projects so that they are passed off to the project team successfully
  • Maintain strategic plans for top 5 projects for each salesperson, create and share a list of these projects with executive team

Economics and Financial Performance
  • Manage and ensure that CRM is always up to date, present expected forecast to executives
  • Maintain and keep an ongoing shared list of all annuity business and review quarterly to ensure that all is being followed and margin strategy is on track
  • Update sales L10 data weekly to keep team on track with goals
  • Update management L10 data weekly to keep team informed on goals
  • Make sure that any management L10 data numbers have backup documentation
  • Manage and watch all account managers' gross profit to ensure they stay on track with goals
  • Contribute to the management of the sales department budget
  • Review low probability opportunities and build plans with salesperson to move project from low to high probability, determine if additional resources are needed


Requirements

Qualifications
  • Proven work experience as a VP of Sales or similar role
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Have a strong working knowledge of products and competitors in market area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
