Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead our Product Development team in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing new product development, managing design and production feasibility, and ensuring product quality. In addition to internal collaboration, this position requires direct interaction with customers to discuss technical product specifications, requirements, and solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, procurement, and sales to develop products that align with both wholesale and retail business needs.

We need an Engineering Manager that thinks strategically by aligning product development with market trends to ensure long-term company growth. The ideal candidate is resourceful, creative, and ready to get things done.
This Engineering Manager position requires proficiency in typing, the ability to sit at a desk, and the capacity to focus on a computer screen. This position requires manual dexterity for working with small components, ability to complete repetitive motions for long periods of time, bending, continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 50 lbs., and managing packages up to 150 lbs., as well as standing/stooping for long periods of time.
Availability
This onsite position is located at 15425 Chets Way, Armada, MI, 48005. You must be available to work between the hours of 7am and 6pm Monday - Friday with the occasional evening or Saturday for projects that must be done outside of normal business hours.

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead our Product Development team in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing new product development, managing design and production feasibility, and ensuring product quality. In addition to internal collaboration, this position requires direct interaction with customers to discuss technical product specifications, requirements, and solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, procurement, and sales to develop products that align with both wholesale and retail business needs.

- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and product developers
- Provide project definition, set clear objectives, manage budget, establish timelines, solicit and secure required resources, execute project plan and publish monthly updates to stakeholders
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to production for new and existing products
- Ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards while optimizing material selection and production methods
- Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure production feasibility and efficiency
- Identify product validation requirements and lead the team through the steps; Contribute and participate in product trials and carry out feasibility studies
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer insights teams to align product designs with market demands
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication on technical product specifications, customization requests, and feasibility assessments
- Research and integrate new materials and technologies to enhance product offerings
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges and support as needed in creating efficiencies for production
- Maintain documentation for designs, specifications, and process changes to ensure traceability and compliance
- Performs quarterly and annual reviews for direct reports
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following knowledge and skills:
- 5+ years of experience in product development and manufacturing engineering
- Minimum of 3+ years in a leadership role
- Strong background in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as molding, metal fabrication, assembly, or related fields
- Understanding of materials science and production processes
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) for product design and development
- Experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in an understandable way
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in consumer goods, industrial products, or retail-focused manufacturing
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance for manufactured goods
- Experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners
