Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Tax Insurance Broker to join the team in New York, NY.
As a Tax Insurance Broker you will specialize in brokering tax credit insurance and transactional tax insurance solutions for our diverse client base. You will serve as a critical link between clients and insurance markets, structuring policies that mitigate tax risks in complex transactions. This position may include oversight of junior team members and contributes directly to the growth and expansion of our tax insurance practice.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

As a Tax Insurance Broker you will specialize in brokering tax credit insurance and transactional tax insurance solutions for our diverse client base. You will serve as a critical link between clients and insurance markets, structuring policies that mitigate tax risks in complex transactions. This position may include oversight of junior team members and contributes directly to the growth and expansion of our tax insurance practice.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Structure and place tax insurance programs for clients, with specific focus on tax credit insurance and transactional tax matter
- Provide insurance solutions for tax-related uncertainties in M&A transactions, tax credit investments, and corporate risk management strategies
- Coordinate with insurance carriers to develop tailored tax insurance solutions that address specific client needs
- Analyze and explain complex tax issues and associated insurance products to clients and teammates in clear, accessible terms
- Mentor and oversee junior staff, reviewing their work and providing training on tax insurance concepts and placement strategies
- Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities and building relationships with internal production staff, existing clients and potential new clients
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to drive increased use of tax insurance with existing clients and prospects
- Prepare detailed submissions to insurance markets and analyze quote options to evaluate appropriateness and strength of available solutions
- Stay current on evolving tax regulations, market trends, and innovation in tax insurance products
- As reasonably requested, attend relevant industry conferences and networking events to promote the firm's tax insurance capabilities
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in tax law, tax insurance, or related fields
- Prior experience at a law firm, accounting firm, or insurance brokerage dealing with tax matters
- Strong understanding of US federal income taxation and the tax ramifications of business transactions
- Bachelor's degree and advanced degree (JD, LLM, and/or CPA) required
- Experience with tax credit structures, including renewable energy tax credits
- Knowledge of transaction tax matters including M&A, restructurings, and joint ventures
- Valid insurance broker license or ability to obtain one within specified timeframe
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously
