What You Will Do
The Nuclear Production Operations Directorate under the ALD Weapons Production (ALDWP) umbrella is seeking a Division Leader for the Power Supply Production Division (PSP) to lead and execute key missions that support our nation's security and space endeavors. We proudly support Pu-238 manufacturing and science for NASA and their exploration programs, as well as DOE and DoD Defense Programs. We are stewards of actinide material processing capabilities that are unique in the country and vital to national security.
The Power Supply Production Division Leader will provide strategic direction, and operational and administrative management oversight for two groups - Power Supply Production (PSP-5) and PS Assembly & Product Characterization (PSP-6), both whose mission is to provide world-class actinide processing and power source production in support of national defense and space exploration.
The PSP Division Leader is a member of the ALDWP Directorate's leadership team and reports to the Nuclear Production Senior Director (ALDWP-NP). The PSP Division Leader will have a record of effective management of a nuclear organization that includes Conduction of Operations within a high hazard environment, demonstration of programmatic delivery, effective advocacy, and commitment to technical and operational excellence. Technical SME: Advanced, expert-level knowledge of and proven consultative ability in one or more of the following disciplines: nuclear materials research, process development, technology demonstrations, manufacturing and technology; weapons component manufacturing; manufacturing quality and production control and/or program management.
Manufacturing Leadership: Demonstrated technical leadership and problem solving related to manufacture of high value components.
Organizational Leadership: Proven leadership ability and experience leading a multidisciplinary group of scientists, engineers, technicians and/or professional staff in a technical environment.
Cross-Functional Integration: Proven ability and experience identifying, acquiring and managing resources in support of cross-organizational deliverables, scope, schedule and budget.
Laboratory Safety Compliance: Advanced, expert-level knowledge of safety, security, environmental and quality regulatory requirements needed to manage work in a nuclear/high hazard and/or high explosives facility to include executing work in compliance with facility requirements.
Operational Management: Advanced, expert-level knowledge and proven consultative ability managing and leading business operations to include financial, human resources, procurement, and other related business activities.
Strategic Messaging: Proven ability and experience demonstrating effective communications and negotiation skills, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact internally and externally with executive level management on issues of critical matters.
Education/Experience:
Position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 15 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
