SALARY: The salary range for this position is $88,373.86 to $124,225.29 for Schedule A, and $88,373.86 to $118,014.02 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic person to serve as a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst (IT Analyst 3) in the Information Security Unit (ISU), working primarily as the key technical contributor and advisor on the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT). Under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this position will report to the Manager for Operations and Incident Response and will also work closely with the Manager for Engineering and Project Development, and ISU Supervisors. The position will take a lead role in proactive defense, threat hunting, and coordination of Red/Blue/Purple Teams during Pen Testing and lab Tabletop Exercise (TTX) scenarios. Finally, the position will provide technical backup to and assist the CISO, managers, and unit supervisors as required during events and incident declarations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for senior level Incident Response (IR) and threat monitoring duties across the Judiciary's technology and information management platforms utilizing Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and other specialized tools, and make recommendations for process, procedure, performance, and response improvements. Detailed knowledge of security solutions including, but not limited to, SIEMs, IDPS, NextGen Firewalls, Endpoint Detection and Response, and malware/threat analysis tools are required for this position. Work on special projects such as cybersecurity system upgrades and new technology deployments will be periodically required. This position requires strict adherence to the CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability) and handling of information on a "need to know" basis. Familiarity with CIRT protocols, SOC support, and threat analysis would be helpful.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 3 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Note: This position may require working outside of normal business hours and on-call. The candidate may be required to work in one of three shifts (7 days a week): 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am.
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and three (3) years of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software.
Note: Knowledge of various computer applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Productivity Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), Application Security, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Group Policy, Linux, Unix, SQL Server, IBM Security Access Manager (ISAM), RAC/F, etc.
Information security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, or CISSP are preferred. Candidates who do not possess these certifications, but possess the necessary experience and training, will also be considered, however may be expected to obtain a certification upon hire.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
A Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
An Associate's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and two (2) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for a the required education.

Example of Duties
- Under general supervision of management, perform key IR tactical operations and provide support on serious incidents to leadership, Security Operations Center (SOC), and Engineering staff.
- Perform specialized work on IR tickets and alerts generated by our security tools and referrals from the SOC. Advise CIRT analysts on prompt and concise actions to remediate potential incidents, alerts, and threats through disabling IDs, isolating devices, and quarantining/blocking malicious sites and threat actors.
- Ensure proper functioning of IR logging and alerting systems, identification of risks and threats through log file analysis, and security systems control.
- In the event of a true positive in an incident declaration, laterally work with the CIRT and leadership to contain and eradicate threats and determine recovery posture.
- Address escalations in systems such Identity Access Management, Mainframe security, Log Management, network security, encryption, risk, open systems and other systems as assigned.
