Description:

Blu Omega is seeking a Senior Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner to develop and align cybersecurity and privacy policies with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role will lead efforts in strategy formulation, policy analysis, and workforce planning to ensure compliance and continuous improvement across enterprise cybersecurity and privacy programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review, and update cybersecurity and privacy policies and strategies.
  • Interpret and integrate applicable laws, regulations, and standards into organizational policy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess policy needs and build consensus on policy changes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and documentation on cyber policy initiatives.
  • Lead policy audits and support compliance efforts across programs and projects.
  • Monitor policy implementation and recommend improvements based on feedback and findings.
  • Integrate privacy and security principles into the organization's mission and workforce planning.
  • Promote awareness and advocate for training and resources to support policy execution.
  • Represent the organization on policy boards and working groups.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, legal studies, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years supporting enterprise cybersecurity/privacy policy development.
  • Legal or formal policy training preferred.

Preferred Certifications (one or more desired):
  • CISSP, CISM, CAP, GSEC, GISP, CEH, EDRP
  • ITIL v3, FAC-P/PM (Senior/Expert), CFCP, CGEIT

Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication for policy development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Skilled in preparing, publishing, and updating policy documentation.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements and regulations into clear, actionable policy.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to assess organizational needs and risks.
  • Ability to brief senior leadership and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge Areas:
  • NIST RMF, FISMA, PCI, and PII security standards
  • Cybersecurity and privacy laws, regulations, and threat models
  • Policy frameworks (e.g., ITIL, CMMI, RMF) and best practices
  • Cloud security governance and data protection principles
  • Cyber incident response roles and privacy architecture

Salary Range: $115K - $120K
Our final salary offer will be based on several factors, including depth of technical skills, work experience, education, certifications, and clearance
