The Position
Genentech, Inc. seeks a Research Associate, Technical Development Scientist at its South San Francisco, CA location.
Duties: Design and execute experiments to characterize differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) to T cells, NK cells, other immune cells, and other tissue cells for cell therapy; Develop multicolor flow cytometry panels to characterize a variety of cell therapy products including CAR-T cells, NK cells, and other tissue cells; Develop next-gen sequencing (NGS) methods such as RNA sequencing (RNAseq) to characterize a variety of cell therapy products including CAR-T cells, NK cells, and other tissue cells; Develop assays to measure cell health and fitness using a variety of methods such as metabolic measurement using the Seahorse instrument; Perform analytical development experiments and sample testing for product and process development; Analyze experimental data using advanced software and programming languages such as R and Python; Timely record and document all experiments and results using the electronic lab notebook system; Write reports and present data at group meetings.
Education and experience required: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Biological Sciences or Biotechnology, or related field and 1 year of experience as a Research Associate or Scientist, or related position

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $115,632 to $160,392 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
