Responsibilities:
- Conduct test plans (DVP&R, cycle tests, durability tests) for battery systems development and validation on varying maturity levels, from concepts to production intent
- Instrument and test batteries, both on and off vehicles
- Identify and resolve development issues working closely with other departments such as Design and Manufacturing, as well as with external suppliers.
- Maintain records for all system/component tests.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems (including software)
- Maintain a list of work priorities and appropriately schedule people/resources to ensure on-time completion while supplying guidance to technicians and mechanics.
- Communicate both verbally and through written reports and presentations.
- Document and publish test results.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3 or more year's work experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing field
- Knowledge/skill in automotive, industrial equipment, electric vehicles, materials handling, agricultural or similar vehicle technologies
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings (components, weldments, hydraulic and electrical schematics)
- Initiative-taking with solid leadership skills and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Desire for direct work in a shop environment necessary and ability to work on forklift trucks.
- Excels in innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on High Voltage systems (>80V) and/or Lithium-Ion Batteries
- Practical understanding of electric vehicle drivetrains; power systems, gearboxes/transmissions, braking systems, electric motor design, electric motor tuning, and electric vehicle controllers
- Experience with Data acquisition systems such as SOMAT, LabView, Vector CANalyzer including knowledge of CAN communication protocol.
- Practical understanding of validation, physical and virtual testing, and measurement equipment
- Experience in a product development environment
- Experience deriving conclusions from measured test data sets.

- Experience with Siemens PLM tools (Teamcenter and Polarion)
