Overview

Enable the discovery of disease-modifying small molecule therapeutics for highly unmet medical needs by building critical data infrastructure on Amazon Web Services and enhancing our existing enterprise-level data warehouse in Dotmatics.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with bench scientists, application scientists, pharmacologists, toxicologists, and external partners to 1) understand the scientific questions underlying the data we generate and 2) build an optimal solution that will allow interrogation of that data over the long-term and across programs and study partners.
  • Identify possible blind spots in data generation and collection, using skills in biochemistry, to build a robust data infrastructure that enables FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reproducible) data access for all employees.
  • Support scientists in understanding how to critically identify which information to capture, together with key context.
  • Enable the generation of fit-for-purpose datasets.
  • Translate technology features of our data warehouse into a scientific-based rationale for the data engineering rules we adopt as an organization, and then train scientists on how to integrate data engineering pipelines into their routine lab-based work and/or conversations with vendors.
  • Interdisciplinary functioning and connecting with scientists to build data-driven models that interrogate key scientific questions in the Discovery and/or Development stages of a therapeutic(s).

  • Qualifications

Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, bioengineering, biochemistry, related quantitative concentration, or the equivalent and four years industry experience in biotech/pharma and writing Python. Of the four years experience, two years experience configuring Dotmatics and working with small molecule nomenclature and structural features and working with large molecule nomenclature, sequence features, and expression workflows.

Salary range for the position: $159,000 - 185,000.
