About The Role:
Intelliguard has an excellent opportunity for a CyberSecurity Engineer III to join our team in Columbus, OH reporting to the Director of Information Security. As a CyberSecurity Engineer III, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our cybersecurity compliance program and security operations program. In this role, you will provide leadership in security initiatives, mentor junior security team members, and drive key cybersecurity projects. This role will cover everything from security operations to HITRUST certification efforts, risk assessments, security policies, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles and experience working within GRC functions. Also, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling complex security challenges independently.

About The Role:
Intelliguard has an excellent opportunity for a CyberSecurity Engineer III to join our team in Columbus, OH reporting to the Director of Information Security. As a CyberSecurity Engineer III, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our cybersecurity compliance program and security operations program. In this role, you will provide leadership in security initiatives, mentor junior security team members, and drive key cybersecurity projects. What You'll Be Doing:
- GRC Duties
- Support the company's HITRUST certification efforts, including documentation, gap assessments, and control implementation and other potential future certifications.
- Assist in maintaining and updating security policies, standards, and procedures to align with industry regulations (HITRUST, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Conduct risk assessments and track remediation efforts to address compliance gaps.
- Work with internal teams to ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
- Assist in third-party risk management, reviewing vendor security practices.
- Lead initiatives to enhance governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks, ensuring proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Security Operations
- Assist in AWS security by managing Security Hub scores and driving necessary remediation
- Manage endpoint security through tools such as Microsoft Defender and JumpCloud
- Assists in incident response and BD/DR activities
- Oversee and enhance the incident response process, leading investigations and post-mortem analysis to improve security posture.
- Develop and implement strategies for threat detection, response, and mitigation.
- Support security awareness training and initiatives for employees.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and audit findings.
- Stay up to date on industry regulations, threats, and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned, with opportunities to contribute to high-impact security strategies.
We Would Love To Hear From You, If:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical field-or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity & compliance, including leadership in security initiatives.
- Requires strong teamwork, critical thinking, and documentation skills
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, such as HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Experience with security risk assessments, security operations, compliance audits, and policy development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex security projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience mentoring junior cybersecurity professionals or leading security initiatives.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate across departments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or HITRUST CCSFP) are a plus.
