The primary purpose of this position is to assist the building principal in providing instructional leadership by establishing, promoting and leading efforts aligned with the goal of "Learning for All." The assistant principal will foster an environment characterized by high expectations, data-driven decision making, continuous improvement and capacity building. It is expected the successful candidate will spend the majority of his/her time, energy and talents focused on the quality of education offered at our school while assisting the principal to run an efficient and organized operation. They will also monitor and manage our virtual high school and credit recovery courses.

Starting Salary: $127,378-$132,523 High School Assistant Principal (Based on 24-25 admin salary schedule)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to provide energetic, positive, visible and creative leadership.
- Promote high expectations, performance and achievement from students, staff and self.
- Monitors and evaluates instruction and assessment practices using the 5D's Instructional Framework to describe. Analyze, and critique teacher performance.
- Establish a school climate which promotes equal opportunities for students, good conduct and positive attitudes and values.
- Skills in collaboration, problem-solving and consensus building with individuals and groups.
- Frequently required to attend evening meetings and activities.
- Provides for adequate supervision and safety of students at all times.
- Partner with families and the school community to promote student learning, facilitating parent communication with the school.
- Expresses ideas clearly for different audiences in oral presentations and written communications.
- Ability to utilize a variety of technologies related to public schools.
- Maintains a high standard of ethics in all professional relationships, actions and decisions.
- Participate in special projects as assigned and perform related duties and key responsibilities consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
- Required to follow Board Policies; stay abreast of updates/changes.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Washington State Principal's credential and valid teaching certificate
- Master's Degree in Educational Administration or related field
- In-depth training in the elements of effective learning and teaching and the supervision of educational staff
- Five years of demonstrated successful teaching experience, preferred
- Three years of successful administrative experience, preferred
- Training and/or experience working with students with a variety of educational abilities, skills and cultures
