Position Summary:

With the infrastructure to accelerate the energy transition, Xpansiv is seeking a dynamic Business Analyst to drive key initiatives across two of Xpansiv's core business lines:

The Xpansiv Connect meta-registry and portfolio management system, which currently links to 14 registries and facilitates ~1 billion environmental credit transfers annually. The main users of this platform are in the US REC space; and

CBL Markets, the voluntary carbon market's largest spot exchange for carbon and renewable energy credit markets, which accounts for more than 90% of global, exchange-traded spot volume of voluntary carbon.

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations and Strategy, the role will support the Commodities team with product development and maintenance, pricing/fee structures, prioritizing trading technology initiatives, research and analysis into emerging markets, and business-case development for strategic partnership opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of state, national, and international efforts to catalyze the energy transition.

Responsibilities
    • Support product development and implementation
    • Conduct business-case analysis to support strategic partnerships
    • Support the development and refinement of pricing strategies for products and strategic partnerships
    • Work cross-functionally with Legal, Product, and Operations teams to execute product development, pricing strategies, and strategic partnerships
    • Prepare materials for partnership proposals and other business needs
    • Conduct market research to identify opportunities within global environmental markets


Skills & Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree with two to four years of experience working in a finance, fintech or consulting role, preferably with exposure to environmental/commodity markets
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn new analytical tools as needed
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
    • Ability to analyze complex data and concepts, extracting key insights and translating them into clear, concise messages tailored for senior leadership
    • Self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving
    • Ability to learn in a dynamic work environment and work to achieve goals
    • Passion for global environmental markets, with a keen understanding of industry trends


Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working with Salesforce

Base Salary

Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, knowledge, education and training. However, compensation in New York is expected to be as follows:

$80,000 -$95,000
