Position Summary: The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality management system to ensure that all quality systems and procedures remain robust, compliant, and effective. Accomplished through multiple ways, including--but not limited to--system audits, plant audits, and layered audits. Additionally, the Quality Systems Manager leads the development and implementation of corporate quality systems in alignment with regional automotive and regulatory standards, ensuring both Shape Corp. and its supply chain operate within the required frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement global standards: Facilitate the creation and deployment of global policies, procedures and work instructions to support corporate, customer and industry-specific quality standards.
  • Maintain Global Quality Systems: Coordinate the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of quality systems aligned with ISO/IATF, VDA and other applicable standards.
  • Certification and Compliance: Oversee external registration requirements and work with certification bodies to ensure ongoing compliance and successful audits.
  • Document Control and System Updates: Ensure all internal systems and procedures are regularly reviewed, updates and aligned with external certification and customer specific requirements.
  • Customer Audit Readiness: Maintain audit readiness across all global sites, ensuring all systems satisfy customer requirements and expectations, including formal audits.
  • Audit Coordination: Lead the response efforts for customer specific audits and assessments, ensuring alignment and corrective/preventative action follow-up.
  • Team Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive performance and ensure alignment on quality objectives.
  • Management Collaboration: Work as part of the Shape Corp management team to support cross-functional initiatives, recommend and implement continuous improvement activities, and collaborate with key partners to optimize quality outcomes across global operations.
  • Problem Solving Leadership: Leverage deep knowledge of quality systems and methodologies to support and facilitate cross-functional problem-solving sessions for issues across Shape Corp. Provide expert guidance in root cause analysis, corrective action development, and the application of systematic approaches to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Global Auditing: Conduct global Shape Excellence Audits (SES) audits as a lead quality auditor, ensuring adherence internal standards and best practices.
  • Audit Planning: Manage and oversee the global SES annual audit plan, ensuring effective coverage and resource allocation.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by leadership in support of overall business and quality goals.


Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in engineering, Business, Quality or related field required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted.
  • Strong background in statistics and statistical process control (SPC); Black belt in Six Sigma preferred.
  • Completed formal training and demonstrated proficiency in GD&T and statistical stack up.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, A4, etc.).
  • Experience and familiarity with navigating customer portals.
  • Experience in implementing quality standards and systems (e.g., TS 16949/VDA, etc.).
  • Experience with Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with AIAG standards and procedures (e.g., PPAP, Process Flow, Control Plan, R&R, APQP, etc.).
  • 5-10 years previous experience in the quality field.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Fluent in English.
