Application Manager - Electric Automation

Summary of Role: The main objectives of the position are to enhance communication and collaboration between local Application Engineers and headquarters, support the development of technical competencies in Electric Automation, and ensure effective issue resolution. This role aligns with the corporate strategy of fostering innovation and operational excellence by bridging local needs with global resources, ultimately driving business success and customer satisfaction in the electric automation sector.

Key Accountabilities:

• Serving as the primary point of contact between Team Application Management at headquarters and local Application Engineers
• Strengthening the connection of local Application Engineers with the Application and Software Engineer community
• Ensuring clear and effective communication to all stakeholders with proactive feedback
• Organizing regular meetings with HQ to discuss all relevant topics and addressing any issues
• Supporting technical and all other challenges by contacting relevant departments at headquarters as needed
• Supporting the local stakeholders in terms of Electric Automation competence development
• Identifying most relevant local needs for local Application Engineers and coordinate with headquarters
• Collecting feedback from local Application Engineer teams regarding markets, customer needs, tools, and technologies
• Bridging cultural differences to ensure smooth collaboration between teams
• Providing insights into local practices and conditions that may affect business success
• Reports on current projects and relevant information to headquarters
• Staying updated on industry standards and practices relevant to electric automation technology with special regard to the local standards
• Engaging with local stakeholders, including clients and partners, to foster relationships and gather insights
• Representing the interests of headquarters in local meetings and events
• Act as a point of escalation for any urgent issues that arise in the local context and coordinate with headquarters to develop and implement solutions

Knowledge & Experience:

• Completed technical studies, e.g. electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering or a comparable degree
• Several years of experience in industrial automation technology with comprehensive knowledge of control technology, industrial fieldbus technology and motion control
• Extensive knowledge of application solutions in machines and systems in different industrial segments
• Knowledge of PLC programming and integration of function blocks
• Comprehensive knowledge of sales processes and customer needs in the field of industrial automation as well as experience in project work
• Excellent communication skills, Stakeholder management and non-disciplinary leadership skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (Basic German will be an advantaged
