Director, Investor Relations, Private Equity (BSI)
As part of the Private Equity Investor Relations team focused on Brookfield Special Investments (BSI), this role will report to the Vice President (BSI) and Managing Partner (Private Equity), and presents an opportunity to work with investment professionals, finance and operations teams, and senior management. The role will be focused on servicing Limited Partners, syndicating co-investment opportunities, and raising capital for BSI and other non-control strategies within Brookfield's Private Equity Group. The role is expected to be fast-paced and dynamic within a team environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing strategic and investor relations focused initiatives for existing and prospective investors for BSI. This will include providing day-to-day oversight and support for BSI's Limited Partners, with significant ability to grow within the organization. In addition, interaction will be required with the broader private equity investor relations function, based in Toronto, as well as the Global Client Group in New York.

Responsibilities:
The role will be focused on investor relations and capital-raising activities for private funds managed by the Private Equity Group including:
- Proactively manage investor relationships for BSI, executing on strategies to raise investor awareness and understanding of the business.
- Understand and assess investor sentiment and implement programs to take advantage of market momentum and address issues.
- Be able to effectively articulate BSI's strategy to stakeholders, including new transaction activity and existing portfolio updates.
- Coordinate and actively participate in quarter-end activities and communications with investors.
- Actively engage in the formulation of key messaging to the market and be an effective communicator of this messaging both verbally and in written format.
- Plan and be responsible for regularly recurring investor events, such as the annual investor conference.
- Lead written responses to topical items relevant to the business and be able to communicate the firm's views internally and externally.
- Execute on strategic initiatives within the group and support new fundraising initiatives.
- Actively coordinate co-investment syndication processes.
Requirements:
- Domain Experience: 5-10 years' experience in any of the following disciplines: capital markets, investment banking, fund formation, corporate development, or investor relations. History of working with private fund investors preferred.
- Relationship Management: Strong relationship management skills, with a demonstrated track record of building long-term relationships with sophisticated institutional investors.
- Fundraising: Ability to support new fundraising initiatives. Prior track record of successful fundraising experience is highly valued.
- Project Management: Excellent organizational skills and capability to effectively manage priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Product Knowledge: A comprehensive technical understanding of private equity and private credit and the ability to speak credibly about new investments and developments within the portfolio. Strong understanding of trends and issues in private markets; ability to articulate complex ideas both internally and externally.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and verbal communication skills with a strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization. Ability to lead the preparation of all Investor Relations materials.
- Designations: CFA, MBA or CPA designations are preferred but not required.
