We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Systems Engineer to join our team. This hybrid role combines technical software systems engineering expertise with a strong focus on training and end-user support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining, documenting, testing, and validating complex software systems while also designing and delivering effective training solutions for a mission-critical software tool. The position demands a hands-on professional with excellent communication skills, a passion for user experience, and a proactive mindset toward collaboration and continuous improvement. This position can be based in our Falls Church, VA or Northridge, CA office and is classified as a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position.

Experiences and Background We Look For:
  • Holds Top Secret clearance with SCI and willing to work in the office 100%
  • Design training courses and create interactive training materials for end-user for a software tool
  • Conduct training sessions, both online and in-person (willing to travel quarterly)
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of the training course and make necessary changes
  • Document all interaction with end-user and generate reports to present to stakeholders.
  • Work with end-user one on one to provide additional training or solve a problem
  • Document all end-user feedback, problems, suggestions, or bugs in full detail via JIRA
  • Work with Aret software developers to incorporate end-user feedback into the software tool and to debug
  • Participate in End-to-End and Feature Testing of software tool
  • Create and maintain detailed software documentation to include, but not limited to, release notes, user guides, training material, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Be familiar with the Agile process.
  • Help team implement changes effectively
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration
  • Experiences and Background We Look For:
    • 9+ yrs. experience with BS/BA
    • 7+ yrs. experience with MS/MA
    • 4+ yrs. experience with PhD

The annual salary range for this role is $140,000 to $190,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Other Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility. Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Successful passage of a criminal background screen is required to meet position eligibility.
