Our 23 programs provide supportive housing, intensive case management services, and skills development to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system. Prepares budgets and processes financial data. Manages all financial and accounting activities. Supervises accounting manager and oversees finance staff.

- Hiring Salary Range: $94,004-$112,005/hour based on qualifications
- Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
- Location: Minneapolis, MN
- Hours/Days: Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM
BASIC FUNCTION
This position provides overall direction for all financial management, accounting, single audit and budgeting functions for the agency. Develops financial procedures and directs their implementation. Prepares budgets and processes financial data. Manages all financial and accounting activities. Supervises accounting manager and oversees finance staff.
Financial Management
- Prepare financial reports for board of directors and program managers
- Project variance in shortfalls and surpluses
- Manage cash flow and budgets for 25 programs
- Understand grant releases and restrictions
- Manage numerous grants and funding sources
- Ensures accounts payable and other expenses are posted to appropriate funding sources
- Oversee billing and ensure grants are spent in compliance with requirements
- Create the annual budget
- Ensure that the organization meets its budget targets
- Act as a financial liaison to program managers with their budgets and ensure they meet their budgets
- Utilize spreadsheets and create financial data
- Prepare schedules for regular and single audit
- Act as the financial liaison with auditors for a single audit
- Oversee review and filing of the 990, payroll returns, unemployment, w2s, 1099 and 1095
- Act as financial liaison with accountants, & insurance
- Reconcile bank statements
- Lead financial committee meetings
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial process
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field
Personnel Management
- Supervise a team of four finance staff
- Participates in the management of the employee benefit programs
Compliance
- Ensures agency compliance with risk management procedures
- Ensures agency compliance with GAAP, budgeting, and other accounting and financial procedures
Community Engagement
- Cultivates and maintains partnerships with affiliated organizations and individuals
- Creates and maintains community relations appropriate to the fulfillment of agency priorities and objectives
- Increases community awareness of The Link services
- Networks with and forms productive and supportive relationships with key organizations and practitioners in the field
- Strengthens the position of The Link regarding youth services
- Participates in committees as appointed internally and in the community
- Represents the organization and the organizational point of view to agencies, organizations, and the general public
- Prioritizes, organizes, and schedules job assignments for oneself

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field with 10 years of experience in the field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- 2-5 years management/supervisory experience in a finance or accounting department.
- 5-7 years of non-profit or federal grant experience in a senior level finance or accounting position.
- CPA licensure preferred.
- Ability to work with and manage complex automated systems and analyze and evaluate system needs.
- Ability to communicate complex information to persons with widely-varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience with financial processes and preparation of financial reports
- Experience with budget planning and implementation
- Experience with personnel records management
- Experience with employee benefit program management
- Knowledge and experience with nonprofit auditing
- Knowledge and experience with regard to risk management issues
- Experience in operation of PC's and office applications, such as 365, Excel, Word and etc.
- Extensive experience with spreadsheets and accounting software
- Experience working with boards of directors
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear
- The employee is frequently required to use manual dexterity for use of objects, tools or controls as well as visual acuity
- The employee is required to work for several hours at a time at a computer
