TAX MANAGER

SUMMARY
The Tax Manager will lead all aspects of tax compliance and internal consulting on various tax matters, including but not limited to sales and use tax, property tax on solar projects, and information reporting processes . This position reports to the Director of Corporate Finance or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate . This position is Hybrid l ocated in Irvine, CA and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 10 % .
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, tax or related finance field preferred
CPA preferred
Minimum of 6 years of tax experience
Experience in the construction industry or renewable energy projects a plus
Experience in the tax software such as SOVOS, Vertex or similar a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to develop process and procedures with little direction in a fast pace and changing environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all processes related to transactional and all indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, business personal property tax, withholding tax, and information reporting, and other business taxes to ensure reporting compliance
- Handle audits related to all tax issues including indirect tax , withholding tax , and information reporting filings
- Lead all aspects of the information reporting processes including but not limited to 1099, 1042
- Perform technical sales and use tax research to ensure compliance with state and local tax laws and minimize any potential exposure , which includes tax research memorandums and/ or tax matrices to document position and support
- Advise internal business partners regarding all indirect tax matters , including but not limited to sales and use tax questions and property tax on solar projects
- Account reconciliation between the Company's records with those kept by outsourced accounting firm for Mexican subsidiaries
- Coordinate with outside tax preparers / advisors on Federal and State income tax filings and other various tax issues
- Provide technical support to various internal and external partners regarding sales and use tax , property taxes , withholding tax and reporting issues
- Support Partnership entities tax return and submit annual LLC report as necessary
- Prepare /Review other various tax filings : sales and use tax , Property tax , F1099, F1042, Business tax renewal , Business license , Commerce tax , and etc
- Review deal documentation in the tax area
- Follow up on FINCEN beneficial Ownership reporting for Partnership entities if necessary
- Register FEIN for newly established LLCs as necessary and fill out tax forms such as W-9 accordingly .
- Assist with worldwide transfer pricing ( compliance and testing of intercompany transactions )
- Manage the tax notice log and follow up as necessary
- Assist in financial planning and analysis on business taxes
- Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position .
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management
