Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Job Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator reports to and assists the Pharmacy Director in the clinical operation of the Pharmacy Department. Establishes clinical pharmacy service quality to patients, medical & nursing staff by developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance with policy & procedures. Ensures treatment of patients is individualized & reflects understanding of developmental needs & range of treatment needs for each patient within delegated duties/responsibilities coordinates clinical operation of pharmacy department. Provides research & documentation for pharmacy initiatives & initiates, implements & monitors pharmacy programs. Oversees daily activities of medication use processes, provides comprehensive pharmacy services, and provides direct oversight of clinical pharmacy activities including clinical surveillance & human resources of Pharmacy department to ensure safe, secure & effective use of resources, with appropriate use of information technology, while meeting financial targets. Provides input on Pharmacy budget preparation, analysis & control of expense including operation & clinical activities. Adheres to local, state, & federal laws regarding profession of pharmacy practice. Coordinates staff work schedules, staff assignments, orientation, training, ongoing coaching & corrective action, recognition, performance evaluation, participation in recruitment & hiring & competency assessment. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree: Required
- Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY@ residency: Preferred
- Five years of technical experience: Preferred
- One year's leadership experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Pharmacist license in the state of practice: Required
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS): Preferred
- Registered Pharmacist (RPH): Required
Essential Functions:
- Leads and supervises assigned staff including Pharmacy students, Intern Pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacy Specialists. Includes approval of time and attendance and other human resource requirements. Conducts performance mentoring and coaching, corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
- Collaborates with Pharmacy Director and leadership team in planning, clinical education of staff. Participates in multidisciplinary committees such as Antimicrobial Stewardship, Opioid Stewardship, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Medical Safety and others as assigned. Actively collaborates with Nursing and Physician leadership.
- Establishes, modifies, and manages clinical pharmacy duties to meet hospital goals for patient care and experience. Maintains documentation of clinical competency for staff performing clinical pharmacy tasks.
- Able to fulfill job duties of a staff pharmacist when needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
