Job Summary:
The Executive Director, Cancer Services provides leadership of the clinical operations of the Cancer Service Line. Oversees and is responsible for service line quality, value, and outcome performance, service and clinical excellence in the delivery of patient care, financial performance, growth and program development and relationships with stakeholders. Serves as an administrative liaison for Cancer Network member sites and other affiliates. Reports to the Vice President, Cancer Services. Works collaboratively with each health system entity's administrative leadership team, hospital CNO's, medical staff, and other hospital (clinical) services. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of healthcare leadership experience, including formal management is required. A minimum of five years experience in oncology is preferred. Working experience at an academic institution is preferred. .
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Masters degree in healthcare or a related field is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to create and maintain a strong leadership team, as well as work effectively with all stakeholders. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills to guide the Cancer Service Line through the rapidly changing healthcare environment. Able to effectively represent the organization externally. Ability to influence areas of importance to the service line, but which are not directly under its control.
