Pay Range: $32.00 - $52.08 per hour

Summary:
The successful candidate will provide regulatory and technical instrumentation support for diagnostic imaging equipment under the direction of the Division Head of Diagnostic Medical Physics. The candidate will support the requirements of general daily operations and complying with regulatory and accrediting body requirements for imaging equipment and medical image displays. The role will perform certain quality control testing independently as permitted under state regulations and/or accreditation requirements and, if applicable, provide training to junior medical physics assistant. In addition, the candidate will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
BS in Imaging Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related fields
2 years of experience x-ray radiation experience.
Registered as Diagnostic Imaging Specialist in the State of Illinois

Frequently able to wear 0.5 mm lead equivalent apron for a period of 4 hours.
Frequently able to lift phantoms weighing up to 50 pounds.
Frequently able to work standing for prolonged periods of time.
Frequently able to visualize image artifacts in clinical images.
Frequently perform activities that require stooping, bending and reaching, squatting, balancing, and trunk twisting throughout the day.
Frequently able to communicate verbally and in written form.
Frequently able to use all types of vision for moving medical equipment and visualizing image artifacts in clinical images.
Frequently able to drive to other hospital sites to perform job duties

Responsibilities:
Independently quality control testing as permitted under state regulations and/or accrediting body requirements, perform
Assist in quality assurance testing of imaging equipment under the supervision of Qualified Medical Physicists (QMPs) or,
Implement and review quality control programs for imaging equipment to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Implement and review quality control programs for medical image displays to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Assist in maintaining equipment database and managing equipment testing schedules
Assist in organization and updating of imaging protocols in protocol management software
Assist with quarterly quality control reviews for medical imaging equipment and prepare trend analysis and reports.
Assist with configuration and implementation of automated image analysis programs for quality assurance
Assist in investigation into complaints on image quality from medical imaging devices and medical image displays.
Assist in maintaining master protocol database for radiology imaging equipment
May perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Division Head or QMPs.
