The Opportunity
The Senior Data Analyst for Deposit Product Analytics will be responsible for cross-functional product analytics, a key component of the broader Invest & Deposits Analytics team at Ally Bank. Our mission is to bridge the gap between raw data and insights that shape deposit strategies that optimize customer and balance performance. Ally's ability to grow and compete is dependent on our capability to continuously improve our products and features. This requires a curious and focused data professional to measure and monitor Ally product effectiveness, explore customer behavior, understand the story behind the numbers, and recommend enhancements based on sound analysis. As a member of the I&D Analytics team, you will be required to respond quickly to evolving business opportunities and maintain strong stakeholder relationships within all levels of the organization. As such, the ideal candidate must be passionate about delivering results, willing to challenge the status quo, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to sift through substantial amounts of information to pinpoint what is relevant.

Base Pay Range : $85000 - $150000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.

The Work Itself
- Use ad hoc analysis, statistical modeling, data interpretation, and the development of business intelligence solutions
- Independently interface with key stakeholders and collaborate with various business areas to uncover internal & macro trends that directly influence our competitive positioning, profitability, understanding of our customer portfolio, and strategic direction
- Combine business knowledge with balanced judgement in the interpretation of data to execute meaningful analysis that drives critical decisions
- Create and maintain dashboards for internal stakeholders that track key metrics with an emphasis on intuitive, accurate, and timely insights
- Lead analytics projects which require technical sophistication and the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Apply creative problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking when answering business questions and leveraging data to support new initiatives end-to-end
- Serve as a deposits data expert to ensure stakeholder understanding, collaborative accuracy, and data quality
The Skills You Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in working with large datasets with a focus on problem solving and turning business questions into insights required
- Strong SQL experience required, knowledge of R or Python and advanced Excel is preferred
- Experience with business intelligence software such as Power BI or Tableau is required
- Knowledge of banking and deposits concepts is strongly preferred
- Proficient in data visualization and data storytelling best practices
- Ability to transform data insights into business solutions and provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders to influence decisions with great analytical support
- Experience working on complex initiatives, navigating cross-functional teams and working productively with varying levels of seniority and leadership styles
- Understanding of data wrangling and comfortable investigating new datasets
- Experience with statistical analysis and quantitative techniques
- Ability to build relationships with business partners and technical teams to maintain functional knowledge and context of the data and key metrics
- Self-starter comfortable with limited direction and open-ended requests
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
