The Role:
- Supports the implementation, training, and utilization of current and future EHR systems utilized within LCS, eg PointClickCare, myUnity, MatrixCare, and Yardi software applications.
- Monitors system issues and performance and when necessary, escalates issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Develops a continuous quality improvement plan, identifying key metrics to validate user satisfaction, achievement of implementation and training goals, etc., in partnership with IT Clinical Systems teams and Health Services Division (HSD) clinical and executive leadership.
- In collaboration with clinical and operations leaders, creates, trains, and ensures implementation of standardized clinical workflows to support business needs including but not limited to identification of outcomes via a role-specific dashboard.
- In collaboration with IT Clinical Systems Director, supports the ongoing EHR vendor relationship to ensure vendor roadmaps are reviewed and support HSD goals and priorities, implementation projects are progressing, and escalated issues are being resolved timely.
- Serve as the EHR subject matter expert for communities and corporate staff and collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure business needs as related to clinical operations are being met.
- Regularly engages with health & wellness project leaders to optimize data gathering elements within existing EHR platforms to support business needs.
- Assists IT Clinical systems support teams and EHR vendors in the troubleshooting of complex EHR system issues and identify solutions, as applicable.
- Reviews new and existing EHR capabilities and integrations in collaboration with key stakeholders to determine if the new feature will be implemented and existing features are optimized to create a positive end-user experience.
- Ensures federal and state regulations relevant to EHR functionality are followed, including HIPPA.
- Collaborates with legal, compliance, and financial teams as necessary and relevant to EHR functionality, as related to clinical operations.
- Works closely with peers to ensure consistency and appropriate data governance around data definitions, workflows, etc.
- Participates as needed in the onboarding of new communities in regard to the plan for EHR transition, training and support.
- Develops and conducts training for the EHR system as director by business need.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is a related field preferred or equivalent years of experience required.
- Master's degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
- Nursing degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience required.
- Advanced clinical system experience highly preferred.
Required skills
- Strong project management skills and/or tangible evidence of successful track record of large scale EHR system implementation and/or support of users of clinical systems.
- Understanding of pertinent regulations for skilled nursing and assisted living facilities
- Exemplary communication skills to support the interaction with a wide range of people including field personnel, auditors, vendors, and all levels of LCS personnel, including Executive Leadership
- Ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired results
- Ability to provide high quality customer service.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to organize and effectively manage complex, cross-segment business change initiative.
- Ability to think critically using the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to solve problems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills with willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet organizational.
- Documented success in addressing business needs with healthcare information management solutions and practices and leading the design, development, deployment, and support of clinical information systems
Preferred skills
- Prior experience with technical support and information security management around the electronic health record health systems.
- Multi-site, multi-state experience.
