Team Overview: Effectively control the risks associated with business activities via the execution of the firm's Enterprise Risk Management framework for identifying, assessing, treating, mitigating, monitoring, reporting, and escalating risks, with a specific focus on AI-related risks (including generative AI and agentic AI related risks).What You'll Do:
The Sr. Risk & Control Associate assists divisional leadership in identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and monitoring the operational, strategic, financial, and other risks of the division. Assists in the executions of the risk management program, which includes performing and facilitating risk assessments, connecting the risks across reporting responsibilities and assisting leadership in prioritizing risk mitigation efforts. While this position is an individual contributor role, the person in this position will work in partnership with internal stakeholders, including divisional leadership, as well as risk representatives from across the organization.

Salary Information

While this position is an individual contributor role, the person in this position will work in partnership with internal stakeholders, including divisional leadership, as well as risk representatives from across the organization.
Here are a few of the key responsibilities you will be a part of:
- Responsible for carrying out risk and control activities per the Enterprise Risk Management Program, including any divisional-required elements, with an emphasis on AI-related risks.
- Understands and advises the team on division processes, historical risk results, firm policies/programs, including all Enterprise Risk Management Program Framework and Standards, particularly in the context of AI.
- Primary focus includes issue/incident management, control testing, critical business process mapping/inventorying, and risk assessment support, including new AI projects and initiatives.
- Assist Business Owners in ensuring policies, standards, and procedures are consistent with ERM policies and standards and align to the firm's use of AI policy.
- Supports business risk owners in evaluating remediation strategies and control enhancements, especially for AI-related risks.
- Executes risk management procedural requirements for AI use cases including open high risks, including root cause analysis, action plan development, evidence, and remediation documentation, including supporting and challenging business risk owners on action plan effectiveness.
- Reviews emerging risk concerns and provides early warning on key risks with divisional leadership, focusing on AI. Works to develop, inventory, and report on KRIs for the division.
- Uses a GRC tool (i.e., LogicGate) to document risk issues and assessment data, with a focus on AI-related risks.
- Assists leadership in developing reporting and analyzing results for inclusion in risk forums, with a focus on AI.
- Assists in the development of risk training and education to business partners, with a focus on AI.

Position Requirements
What Experience You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Finance, Risk Management or Data Science preferred)
- 5+ years of AI/ML and/or technology risk management experience, financial regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of AI/ML models
- Understanding of AI bias detection, explainability tools (SHAP, LIME), and model validation techniques
- Familiarity with programming languages used in financial modeling (Python, R, SQL) and cloud AI solutions (AWS, Azure. GCP)
- Experience with financial industry regulations (SEC, FINRA, Basel III, GDPR, AI Act)
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks in financial services
- Familiarity with AI risk management frameworks and guidance (NIST, ISO/IEC 23894, OECD)
- Ability to translate AI risks into financial and regulatory impact assessments
What Could Set You Apart:
- AI ethics-related credentials
- FRM, CFA, CRISC, CISM
- Experience in AI governance for investment, banking or financial industry
- Background in quantitative finance, algorithmic auditing, or regulatory AI risk assessments
- Experience using a GRC tool such as LogicGate
